Introduction
TL;DR
TL;DR
Flex’d is a visual concept fitness project I co-led as part of a class in Spring 2025. The goal was to explore a bold, expressive design direction that intentionally moves away from the calm, minimal tone most fitness apps rely on.
The project leans into a brutalist aesthetic, loud color, strong typography, and personality-driven interactions to make fitness feel more playful and social. This work is intentionally experimental and focuses on visual craft, interaction style, and system consistency rather than real-world constraints or metrics.
Everything you see in this project was designed by us. The mascot was hand-drawn, and all screens and interactions were fully prototyped in Figma.

Expressive, high-contrast visual systems
I explored how bold color, strong contrast, and heavy typography could create energy and personality without overwhelming the interface. The goal was to embrace loud visuals while keeping the system intentional and structured.

Storytelling is a design skill. This project helped me think beyond individual screens and focus on how visual and interaction choices work together to tell a cohesive story across the product.

You can’t do everything. What started as a simple app and branding exercise quickly expanded into a full product ecosystem. This reinforced the importance of intentional scoping, even in exploratory work.

Prototyping improves with practice. This was a focused exercise to rebuild speed and confidence in high-fidelity prototyping in Figma after spending time working across corporate products and Framer-based workflows.
